Lawyer: 11 other women have Cosby claims

PHILADELPHIA, May 12 (UPI) -- Attorneys for the woman who says Bill Cosby attacked her say 11 women with similar claims will testify in her civil trial, if they are promised anonymity.

The civil suit was filed March 8 in Philadelphia by Andrea Constand, 31, who contends Cosby drugged her and sexually assaulted her while she was working for Temple University's sports department in January 2004.

During a Wednesday hearing over whether the suit should be sealed, her lawyers said they had been contacted by more women about Cosby, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

"We have additional women who have called, and they would agree to testify if they knew their identities would be protected," attorney Dolores Troiani said.

Cosby's attorneys, who want the case sealed, criticized Troiani for not giving them the names.

"What is occurring here is innuendo, false rumor (and) unidentified witnesses attacking the credibility of a man who's entitled to a fair trial like any other person in America," said Patrick O'Connor, a Cosby lawyer.
