McKnight allegedly slammed McCready's face into the floor and was choked her until blood vessels in her eyes ruptured, the Nashville Tennessean reported. She was treated and released from a local hospital.

Affidavits said McCready's former boyfriend was waiting for her in her house's garage Sunday morning when she returned home.

He allegedly told her he was going to kill her and said, "You're not to be going out with other guys," the affidavits said. McCready, 28, whose 1996 single "Guys Do It All The Time" reached No. 1 on the charts, was then chased upstairs into a bedroom, where she was attacked.
