LONDON, May 9 (UPI) -- Executives at Britain's Channel 4 requested a meeting with convicted murderer Mark Chapman for a film marking the 25th anniversary of John Lennon's death.
Channel 4 officials sought to interview Chapman at the the Attica penitentiary in New York, where the 50-year-old is imprisoned for the December 1980 shooting death of the former Beatle outside his New York apartment.
Channel 4 said the proposed 25th anniversary interview would be "a fascinating glimpse into the mind of a killer," Sky News reported.
The interview would be part of a documentary called, "I Killed John Lennon," which also is to feature previously unheard audio interviews journalist Jack Jones conducted with Chapman.
