LOS ANGELES, May 4 (UPI) -- Car customizing pioneer George Barris will auction his collection of cars used in movies and TV shows, a spokesman said in Los Angeles Wednesday.
The collection of more than 70 autos and motorcycles includes the Dodge Charger known to "Dukes of Hazzard" fans as The General Lee, as well as the Ford Torino from "Starsky & Hutch." It also includes cars from "The Fast and the Furious," the Pontiac GTO from Vin Diesel's "XXX", a hot rod from the movie "Grease" and "The Beverly Hillbillies" jalopy -- as well as the Elvis Presley Gold plated Cadillac and Madonna's 1969 Pink Auburn from "Dick Tracy."
The Barris Star Car Collection will be on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles for a celebrity-VIP preview on Friday, May 13. The collection is scheduled to hit the auction block at Bonhams & Butterfields auction house on May 14.
