'View' co-hosts defend S.E. Cupp over Hustler photo
LONDON, April 29 (UPI) -- A 1969 letter showing a widening division between Paul McCartney and his fellow Beatles will be auctioned at Christie's in London.
The letter, marking the beginning of the end for one of the world's most popular musical groups, formally notifies Lee Eastman, father of Linda McCartney, that he is no longer the Beatles' legal representative.
John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr wanted Allen Klein, the Rolling Stones' manager, to take on their band. McCartney, however, still favored Eastman, Sky News said.
The Beatles' partnership was dissolved in court on Jan. 9, 1975.
Expected to fetch up to 60,000 pounds ($95,355), the letter is part of a Pop Memorabilia auction scheduled for Thursday that also includes a guitar played by The Who's Pete Townsend and a T-shirt worn by drummer Keith Moon.
