JERUSALEM, April 20 (UPI) -- It looks like Britain's legendary Rolling Stones will finally put on a concert in Israel, the Jerusalem Post reported Wednesday.
The Stones have never played in the violence-plagued Middle East, but lower insurance costs due to declining tensions in the region have led to a date on the world tour that kicks off in August, Israel Radio said.
"This is rumored to be their last tour and they want to play in countries they've never been to," said Benny Dudkevitch, a pop music historian and Israel Radio's pop music correspondent. "The youngest member of the band is Ronnie Wood and he's 58."
Although Israel Radio says the concert is a go, an Israeli promoter denied to the Post that he had been in touch with the band's management.
