Some are calling it the "Gone with the Wind" of India, the San Jose Mercury News said Friday.

At $3 million the most expensive Indian film of its day, "Mughal-E-Azam" (in Hindi with English subtitles) is described as a lavish, deliriously over-the-top retelling of the 16th-century story of Prince Salim and courtesan Anarkali, whose love threatens to divide the kingdom of Hindustan.
