LOS ANGELES, April 5 (UPI) -- Pop star Britney Spears and her husband Kevin Federline will star in a reality-based show for UPN, the network announced Tuesday.
UPN president Dawn Ostroff said the six-episode series will be built around a combination of the couple's private home videos and new footage shot by UPN. Ostroff told Daily Variety the show will not play like a video press release for Spears.
"I don't think there's anything sugarcoated about this," said Ostroff. "It's pretty raw and pretty real. I don't think (viewers) have ever been exposed to people being so honest and open about their lives."
Spears said the series would give fans the truth about her relationship with Federline.
"From the day that Kevin and I met, there have been constant rumors and inaccurate speculation about our lives together," said Spears. "I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited about showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories, which have been misconstrued by journalists in the past."
