LONDON, March 18 (UPI) -- The split between Darren Day and singer Suzanne Shaw has prompted Day to quit his London stage role in "Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Day, 36, told theater managers he could not go on after breaking up with the former Hear'Say singer, who has been his co-star in the production, the Daily Mirror said Friday.

"Suzanne signed up as narrator to keep an eye on Darren following allegations that he cheated with one of the show's dancers but now (that) they've split the idea of working together is just too awkward," a source told the newspaper.

"He's been devastated by the break-up and feels he needs a clean break."

Shaw ended the relationship with Day over his alleged reluctance to commit to her and their 3-month-old son.
