Actors auction awards outfits for charity

LOS ANGELES, March 12 (UPI) -- Time is running out to bid on clothing and accessories worn by celebrities, including Cate Blanchett and Sarah Jessica Parker, at U.S. awards shows.

The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, founded by actors Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford, auctions outfits celebrities have worn to awards shows including: the Academy Awards, the Grammy Awards and the Golden Globes.

Bidding ends this weekend for many items of clothing, shoes, handbags, watches, gift bags and costumes via the Web site clothesoffourback.org.

Among the donations are: Blanchett's Judith Leiber hand bag she took to the Academy Awards, Morgan Freeman's Versace Tuxedo from the Academy Awards, Parker's Vivienne Westwood Pants from HBO's "Sex and the City" and Alan Alda's Zegna Academy Award tuxedo.

The proceeds benefit: the Children's Defense Fund, Smile Train, Cure Autism Now and the UNICEF Tsunami Relief Fund.
