LOS ANGELES, March 11 (UPI) -- Oddsmakers have tapped a New Jersey middle school teacher as the "American Idol" contender most likely to win the U.S. music competition.

Antigua-based Intertops.com gives Anwar Robinson a 5-2 chance at glory, with rocker Bo Bice right behind him with 3-1 odds, Zap2it.com reported Friday. Mario Vazquez of New York City comes in third with 7-2 odds.

The Web site released its handicaps of the contenders once the hit Fox series got down to 12 competitors.

Late last month, Intertops' competitor BetWWTS.com made Carrie Underwood of Oklahoma the early favorite, but a couple of so-so performances dropped her to 11-2, second among the women.

The only woman ahead of her in the running is Nadia Turner, who gets 9-2 odds.
