LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- Filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen will collaborate with screenwriter Charlie Kaufman for a program of radio plays, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The paper said the Coen brothers and Kaufman will present "Theater of the New Ear" April 28-30 at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn. The production will be recorded for broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio.

The cast -- including Meryl Streep, Steve Buscemi, Hope Davis and Philip Seymour Hoffman -- will read from scripts, accompanied by sound effects.

The Coens -- whose feature films include "Raising Arizona" and "Fargo" -- have written a play called "Sawbones" for the event. Kaufman -- who won an Oscar last Sunday for his screenplay for "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" -- has written a radio play called "Hope Leaves the Theater."
