PARIS, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Singer Whitney Houston got sick on a flight to Spain and was treated at a Paris hospital for suspected food poisoning, her publicist says.

Nancy Seltzer said Houston was rushed to a hospital because of severe vomiting Thursday. She said the star had gastroenteritis and was "doing well," the BBC said Friday.

Houston, 41, was en route from Los Angeles to Spain for a holiday when she became ill and got off the plane in Paris. She was taken to the American Hospital for a checkup.
