LOS ANGELES, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Plans are under way in Hollywood for an animated feature based on the best-selling children's book "Peter and the Starcatchers," Daily Variety said Thursday.
The Walt Disney Co.'s animation division has optioned the book, by Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and author Dave Barry and novelist Ridley Pearson. Plans call for the feature to be produced in 3-D computer graphics.

"Peter and the Starcatchers" is described as a "loose prequel" to J.M. Barrie's children's classic, "Peter Pan." It tells the story of an 8-year-old Peter who leads a group of orphaned boys to Never Land.
Disney Editions published the book in August.
