Pauly Shore taps reality TV

HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- TBS ordered 10 episodes of a reality TV show that follows actor Pauly Shore as he tries to revive his family's Los Angeles comedy club and his own career.

Production was under way on the project tentatively titled, "Minding the Store," the Hollywood Reporter said. The 10 half-hour shows on TBS are to follow Shore's efforts to revive the Comedy Store, a Los Angles club his mother founded in 1976, as well as his flagging career.

Shore gained popularity in the 1990s as host of MTV's "Totally Pauly" and movies such as "Encino Man." However, his career sputtered since a short-lived 1977 sitcom on Fox.

Shore recently satirized his struggles in the so-called mockumentary, "Pauly Shore Is Dead."
