NASHVILLE, Ky., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Musician Kid Rock posted bail Wednesday after being arrested in an assault on a disc jockey at a Nashville strip joint.

Police arrested Rock -- whose real name is Robert Ritchie -- after an early morning disturbance at Christie's Cabaret, WTVF-TV, Nashville, reported.

DJ Jay Campos had been hit in the face over his music selections, police said.

Rock posted $3,000 bail and was released later Wednesday. If convicted of the simple assault charge, he could face as much as a year in jail.

Rock, of suburban Detroit, was in Nashville to attend and perform at the funeral of songwriter Merle Kilgore.
