NEW YORK, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- ABC's "Desperate Housewives" pulled in nearly 3 million more viewers than CBS' "47th Annual Grammy Awards" telecast, E! Online reported.
"Desperate Housewives" grabbed 22.1 million viewers Sunday night to best the Grammys for the first time in a decade. The popular ABC soap also was responsible for about 30 percent declines in viewers for two award shows earlier this season -- the Golden Globes and People's Choice Awards.

Even so, the Grammys' estimated 19.2 million viewers against the soap opera helped CBS win the entire evening's rating over second-place ABC, according to Nielsen Media Research.
"Desperate Housewives" plays for the home team, ABC, in the Feb. 27 Academy Awards telecast.
