Doherty, Moss suffer V-Day breakup

LONDON, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- British singer Pete Doherty has split with supermodel girlfriend Kate Moss, The Sun reported Monday.

The lead singer of the Libertines and Babyshambles said he was "torn apart" following a huge phone bust-up with the supermodel.

The split followed earlier reports the couple planned to wed.

"We discussed getting married this summer," Doherty was quoted by The Mirror as saying before the split. "We want the wedding as soon as possible. We love each other."

"Nothing will stop me and Kate from being together," he had said.
