'Hitch' tops box office its debut week

HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- In its debut week, Sony's "Hitch" grossed $45 million and topped the U.S. box office, estimated the Web site boxofficemojo.com Sunday.

"Boogeyman" made $10.8 million last week for a total box office of $33 million, while "Are We There Yet?" made $8.5 million for a total box office of $62 million and "Million Dollar Baby" made $7.6 million for a total box office of $45 million.

In its premier week, "Pooh's Heffalump Movie," distributed by Buena Vista, grossed $6 million.

"The Wedding Date" made $5.6 million for a total box office of $19 million, while "Hide and Seek" made $5.5 million for a total box office of $44 million.

"Sideways," had a total box office of $53 million, "The Aviator" was at $82 million and "Meet the Fockers" had a total box office of $269 million.

Clay Aiken to appear on 'Scrubs'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. singer Clay Aiken will guest star as Kenny, the cafeteria worker. on the NBC-TV's comedy "Scrubs" Tuesday.

There are rumors of job lay offs at Scared Heart Hospital and Kenny is afraid he will lose his job because he is one of the last hired at the hospital.

Luckily, a fundraising talent show is scheduled at the hospital and Kenny has a chance to save his job by singing.

"I guess I have a little experience with live audiences, so they said, 'Why not come out and give it a shot?' "according to Aiken, a runner up on Fox's "American Idol's" second season.

"Scrubs" is normally shot with only one camera and no studio audience, but for part of this episode four cameras and a live audience are used, MTV.com reported.

Monday, Aiken will appear on ABC-TV's "The Jimmy Kimmel Live."


'Eucalyptus' shooting stalls

SYDNEY, Australia, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- The movie "Eucalyptus," starring Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman, has been postponed indefinitely just days before shooting was to begin in Australia.

"The reality is that the script was not at a level that everyone wanted," said Twentieth Century Fox marketing manager John Scott.

"Eucalyptus" is a $25 million adaptation of the Australian novel by Murray Bail, who reportedly had initial reservations about casting the 37-year-old Kidman, in the role of Ellen, who is wooed by two suitors at the age of 19.

"Nicole was so excited to come home to make this movie in Australia. She came here all prepared to play Ellen and she was ready to go," Kidman's publicist, Wendy Day, told the Weekend Australian.

"She is devastated the studio has needed to postpone the production because the script is not ready to shoot."


Jennifer Lopez introduces third fragrance

NEW YORK, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lopez presented her first New York City runway show introducing her new line -- Sweetface -- and her third fragrance, named Miami Glow by JLo.

The fragrance was inspired by the nation's hottest city -Miami. It's a tropical cocktail full of the scents of lush fruits, fresh flowers and sun-baked sand, according to the singer and actress.

"Its makes you dream of sun, sand and a hot, sexy place. For me, it's the essence of Miami captured in a bottle," Lopez said. "All the little things that I like to smell when I get there."

Miami Glow by JLo is Lopez's third fragrance, following Glow by JLo and Still Jennifer Lopez.

A one hour-long MTV cable special, "Jennifer Lopez: Beyond the Runway," showing Lopez developing her fragrance, is to air Feb. 24, at 10 p.m. EST.
