Courtney Love, DA, strike plea deal

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Rocker Courtney Love and the Los Angeles district attorney's office have struck a plea deal on assault and drug charges.

Two counts of felony assault against Love would be reduced to one misdemeanor charge of assault with a deadly weapon and a pair of felony drug charges would be cut to a single misdemeanor, "Celebrity Justice" reports.

Prosecutors dropped their demand for probation in exchange for a much lighter "summary probation." Love, currently in court-ordered drug treatment, would serve no time.

The agreement is subject to approval by a judge next week.
