Wayne Brady leaves 'Chicago'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Wayne Brady has left the cast of the Los Angeles engagement of "Chicago," the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.

The paper said Brady, who was to have played the slick lawyer Billy Flynn, had to bow out because of a strained voice. Brady ended a three-month run in the show on Broadway in December.

An understudy, Lloyd Culbreath, filled in for Brady at a preview Tuesday night. The Times said Gregory Harrison -- who has been playing the role in the national tour for more than a year -- will replace Brady permanently in the L.A. run at the Pantages Theatre.
