NEW YORK, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw has agreed to a two-book deal with his long-time publisher Random House, Daily Variety reported Tuesday.
The paper said neither Brokaw nor the publisher provided information on what the books will be about, and no publication date has been set. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Variety said the deal is sure to be worth well into six-figures, because Brokaw's previous books on World War II veterans were best-sellers.
"The response to 'The Greatest Generation' and the books that followed has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life," Brokaw said in a statement.
Brokaw stepped down as anchor of NBC's "Nightly News" on Dec. 1 but is still on staff at NBC News, and plans to work on occasional long-form projects.
