Actor denies breaking ex-model's nose

NEW YORK, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Spanish actor Javier Bardem says he should not be blamed for former model Jill Marshall's nose being broken while they were dancing in New York.

Marshall has filed a lawsuit against Bardem and the Gypsy Tea nightclub for her broken nose on the night of Bardem's premiere of his film "The Sea Inside," reported World Entertainment News Network Tuesday.

The lawsuit alleges Marshall's nose injury was so severe, she required surgery. She also accuses the nightclub of negligence for continuing to serve alcohol to the actor "while in a state of intoxication" and failing to provide security to prevent the incident.

Bardem's attorney, Martin Singer, counters that Marshall approached Bardem several times to dance.

"I'm not going to comment on the woman's dancing abilities," he said. "However, to the extent the woman was injured while she was dancing, it was caused by her own conduct."
