In one recent week, Crystal's show took in more than $780,000 -- more than most long-running hit musicals gross in a week.

"Billy Crystal has always used his extraordinary talent to connect with ordinary people," said Laurence J. Kirshbaum, chairman and chief executive officer of the Time Warner Book Group, in a statement. "In '700 Sundays,' he has turned his family into a universal story that resonates with humor, memory and love."

The title "700 Sundays" comes from Crystal's calculation that he spent he spent that many Sundays with his father, Jack Crystal, while his father was alive.
