
LONDON, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- The nominations for this year's British Academy Film Awards have been announced, with "The Aviator" leading the charge with 14 nominations.
"Finding Neverland" and "Vera Drake" scored 11 nods each, Daily Variety reported Monday. Those three films have all been nominated for the Best Film prize, alongside "The Motorcycle Diaries" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
Kate Winslet scored a double nomination in the best actress category, for her roles in "Eternal Sunshine" and "Finding Neverland." Jamie Foxx was also nominated twice, in the best actor race for "Ray" and the supporting actor stakes for "Collateral."
"Collateral" director Michael Mann earned a best director nod alongside "Aviator" helmer Martin Scorsese, "Eternal Sunshine" mastermind Michel Gondry, "Finding Neverland" director Marc Forster and "Vera Drake" architect Mike Leigh.
