WASHINGTON, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- The 55th Presidential Inaugural Committee announced Monday that Italian singer Andrea Bocelli will perform during the celebrations in Washington.
Bocelli will perform in "A Celebration of Freedom" event at the Ellipse and he will also give a private performance for President George W. Bush, first lady Laura Bush and guests at the chairman's luncheon Wednesday.
"Andrea Bocelli's talents will bring a unique touch to our nation's inaugural celebration, and he is a great addition to the entertainment we have in place," Inaugural Committee Chairman Jeanne L. Phillips said.
"Bocelli's voice has inspired millions across the globe and we greatly appreciate his acceptance to be a part in our nation's tribute to democracy."
