No Kid Rock at inaugural

WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Rapper/rocker Kid Rock will not be participating in President Bush's inaugural festivities -- at least not as a performer.

An Inaugural Committee spokeswoman told UPI Wednesday Kid Rock will not be performing at the inaugural rock concert Jan. 18 because he was never invited.

"That was misinformation," she said of the many media reports last week that the Detroit native and avid Republican had been tapped to headline "America Rocks Today: A Call to Service," a youth concert being co-managed by Bush daughter, Barbara.
