LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Police arrested a Seattle man outside a Los Angeles courtroom after he accused rocker Courtney Love of killing her late husband, Kurt Cobain.
Richard Lee was arrested Tuesday on a charge of having a fake media ID after a loud verbal confrontation with Love, "Celebrity Justice" reported. The Seattle resident, "who fancies himself a documentarian and claims Love killed Cobain," has followed Love from courtroom to courtroom for at least two years.
When Lee hurled accusations again Tuesday, Love responded: "Did they just let you out of the mental hospital? Leave us alone."
"The weirdo just scares me, man," Love said of Lee's claims concerning Cobain, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The confrontation overshadowed a proposed agreement Tuesday with prosecutors that would reduce felony assault charges to misdemeanors and drop drug charges against Love -- if she can agree to tough restrictions on travel. On Monday, Love regained custody of her daughter, Frances Bean.
