LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- A&E Network is planning a movie about a nationwide strike by gays and lesbians in support of legal same-gender marriage, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.

"Gays on Strike" is described as a comedy along the lines of "In & Out" -- the 1997 Kevin Kline comedy about a teacher who questions his sexuality after a former student mistakenly identifies him as gay at the Academy Awards.

The A&E movie will center on two gay men who inadvertently set off a strike by gays and lesbians throughout America to protest legal restrictions against same-gender matrimony.
