LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor got together with other "Star Wars" stars for a Vanity Fair photo spread.

George Lucas, the man behind the mega-hit series, was on hand as were Mark Hamill, Samuel L. Jackson, Liam Neeson and Hayden Christensen.

And, of course, no shoot would be complete without the robots R2-D2 and C3PO.

Lucas says the end of "Star Wars" marks the end of an era in his career.

"I'm going to make movies nobody wants to see," he says. "I've earned the right to fail."
