Sting to play for tsunami relief

NEW YORK, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- British pop star Sting Wednesday announced plans to headline a concert in Australia to raise funds for tsunami relief efforts.

The former Police singer will perform Feb. 10 at the Leeuwin Estate Winery in Perth, Australia, and promised 100 percent of the net proceeds from the show would be donated to agencies involved in the relief efforts.

Specific information about which agencies will receive the proceeds and ticket sales will be announced soon.

Sting kicks off the next leg of his "Sacred Love" world tour Monday in Singapore.
