Grammys to honor Led Zeppelin, Eddy Arnold

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Next month's Grammy Awards will declare Lifetime Achievement status for Led Zeppelin and Janis Joplin, "Entertainment Tonight" reported.

The designations will be made at a Feb. 12 ceremony, one night before the 47th annual Grammy Awards take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Among the other, diverse achievement acknowledgements, honors will be also be bestowed upon country crooner Eddy Arnold, and the original bluegrass Carter Family for their contributions to music over several decades.

Also named for achievement awards were jazz pioneers Jelly Roll Morton and Art Blakely, blues pianist Pinetop Perkins, gospel's The Staples singers and classical pianist Morton Gould.
