Spears' stalker explains his actions

QUEBEC, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- A Quebec musician jailed for stalking Britney Spears has told his side of the story to "Celebrity Justice," the TV show's Web site reported Monday.

Daniel Lachance traveled to Spears' mother's home in Kentwood, La., to profess his love of the singer to her family. However, local police arrested him and he was jailed on $250,000 bail. Lachance pleaded no contest to two counts of stalking, However, Lachance said he is not a stalker.

"To do stalking, you have to follow someone around for three months. All I did was ring the door bell four times," he said.

Lachance was sent back to Quebec on probation.

Despite his ordeal, Lachance remained convinced that he and Spears are meant to be. "Life's going to bring us together," he said. "I have a good feeling about this."
