ST. PETER PORT, England, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- British comedian Cyril Fletcher, best known for his "Odd Odes" comic verses, died in St. Peter Port, England, the Daily Mirror reported. He was 91.
Fletcher was born in Watford, England, in 1913. He became a professional comic in 1936 with the Fol-De-Rols concert party.

The comic's career spanned stage, radio, TV and films, most notably playing Mantalini in 1947 film, "Nicholas Nickleby."
Fletcher is survived by actress wife Betty Astell, 92, and daughter Jill.
