LONDON, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- British movie fans have chosen "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" as the best film of the year.
The same honor went to the first two installments of the epic trilogy. Earlier this year, "Return of the King" won the Academy Award for Best Picture in the United States where it originated.
In a poll of BBC1's "Film 2004" viewers, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," the Jim Carrey comedy, came in second and "Finding Neverland," the biopic about Peter Pan creator J.M. Barrie, was No. 3, the London Sun said.
"Lost in Translation" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" came next, followed by "Shaun of the Dead," "Hero," "The Incredibles," "Spider-Man" and "Collateral."
