TOKYO, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- PlayStation Portable, produced by Sony Computer Entertainment, hit Japanese store shelves Sunday and were reportedly flying off the shelves.
PSP allows users to enjoy computer games with graphics as high quality as on PlayStation 2, but in addition they can play music and DVDs. They system is also equipped with a radio communications system.
At Yodobashi Camera in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, more than 1,000 people formed a line beginning Saturday, forcing the store to open earlier than usual at 6 a.m. Three hours later, the PSPs were sold out, reported Mainichi Daily News Sunday.
"I heard rumors that Yodobashi would receive more PSPs from the manufacturer than other retailers," said a 22-year-old, who had waited in line. "I like the PSP because it allows you to enjoy not only computer games, but also video and music."
