
WASHINGTON, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Revenues for U.S. motion picture and video firms rose 6 percent to $64 billion last year, from $60 billion in 2002, the U.S. Census Bureau reported.
U.S. motion picture and video production and distribution revenues increased 7 percent, to $48 billion, while revenues from the licensing of domestic motion picture films were $12 billion. Revenues from domestic licensing of television programs were $11 billion.
Motion picture theater revenues increased to $12 billion, up 6 percent. Feature film exhibition of domestic films made up 68 percent of the 2003 estimate, at $8 billion; while food and beverage sales totaled 28 percent of the 2003 estimate, at $3 billion.
Integrated record production and distribution revenues remained flat, at $10 billion.
