Wayne Brady working on NBC comedy

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Entertainer Wayne Brady will star in a comedy for NBC set in the world of personal injury law, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.

The paper said Saladin Patterson -- a writer-producer who has worked on "Frasier" and "The Bernie Mac Show" -- will write the pilot script and executive produce Brady's show. Brady's manager, Bernie Brillstein, will serve as co-executive producer.

Brady -- who won two Daytime Emmys for his now-canceled syndicated variety series "The Wayne Brady Show" -- told the Reporter he and Patterson have spent a long time refining the concept for the show. He said he hoped the show would compensate for a lack of workplace comedies currently on TV.
