Infinity boss holds Stern to contract

NEW YORK, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Infinity Broadcasting President Joel Hollander says Howard Stern will be held until the end of his contract no matter how nasty Stern talks, a report said.

Hollander said the so-called shock jock is worth $100 million in revenue to Infinity in the next 13 months, the New York Post reported.

"You can meet me in the back of the room and, if you want to give me a check for $100 million, I'll take him off tomorrow," Hollander told the Post when asked why he tolerates Stern's personal attacks and commercials for satellite radio.

Stern signed a five-year, $500 million deal with Sirius Satellite Radio starting in 2006.

Stern called Hollander a "skunk" and a "maggot" on the air in recent weeks, but Hollander told investment analysts Tuesday he has a strong back and he'll hold Stern to the rest of his contract.

Meanwhile, the Post reported, discontent among current Infinity affiliates and fans is growing and may jeopardize the audience that would follow him to satellite radio.
