LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- The Producers Guild of America will honor the FX series "Rescue Me" at its upcoming annual awards ceremony, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The paper said the PGA would present its 2005 Visionary Award to the show's producers -- Denis Leary, Peter Tolan, Jim Serpico and Kerry Orent -- at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Jan. 22.

The Visionary Award is given to recognize producers and/or a TV show or movie that demonstrate a "unique or uplifting quality." Past recipients have included "Angels in America," "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "America: A Tribute to Heroes."

"Rescue Me" -- which features Leary in a starring role -- focuses on the lives of New York City firefighters.

The PGA is scheduled to announce the nominees for its 2005 awards on Jan. 5.
