LOS ANGELES, Conn., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Destiny's Child joins more than 100 U.S. artists including Gene Autry, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra to record "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."

The song and music video by Destiny's Child are being released in celebration of the 40th annual broadcast of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" -- the longest-running and highest-rated holiday special in television history.

The new version of the famous holiday song will be included as a bonus CD in the special 40th anniversary collector's edition "Rudolph" DVD released by Classic Media.

The song has been a favorite holiday tune since 1949 and the classic stop-motion animation special featuring Burl Ives has been viewed by 100 families since it premiered on television in 1964.
