LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Pop star Michael Jackson is being sued in Los Angeles for $3 million by a former producer, Entertainment Tonight reported Thursday.
Just two months before his child-molestation trial is scheduled to begin, Jackson faces a Los Angeles County Superior Court lawsuit by J. Marc Schaffel, claiming he was only paid a portion of the $8.6 million the performer owes him for work over the past three years.
Schaffel, who produced two television specials for Jackson, says he loaned Jackson money to buy a piece of jewelry for Elizabeth Taylor and for other shopping, as well as money the pop idol asked for after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Jackson has made no comment on the lawsuit.
