Keanu Reeves to star in 'Night Watchman'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Keanu Reeves will star in Spike Lee's upcoming movie "The Night Watchman," Daily Variety said Tuesday.

The paper said Reeves would start filming on the project as soon as he finishes promoting his new movie, the fantasy-thriller "Constantine" -- in which Reeves plays a supernatural detective who has literally been to hell and back. "Constantine" is scheduled to open on Feb. 18, 2005.

"The Night Watchman" -- an original screenplay by James Ellroy ("L.A. Confidential") -- is the story of a disgraced cop who uncovers corruption on the police force and sets out to redeem himself.

Reeves' other upcoming projects include "A Scanner Darkly," a futuristic thriller based on the novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick, and "Thumbsucker," a comedy about a man who turns to his debate coach and orthodontist to help him stop sucking his thumb.
