CARDIFF, Wales, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Charlotte Church met her half brother for the first time when the 16-year-old appeared at the Welsh singer's doorstep, it was reported Friday.
Luke Reed walked up to Church as she was leaving her Cardiff home and said "Hello, I'm your brother," Britain's Mirror said.
Reed and Church share the same father, Steven Reed, whom the singer has not seen since her parents split when Church was a baby.
Church, raised by her mother Maria and stepfather James Church, reportedly wants no contact with her natural father.
Luke hopes he can build a relationship with his half sister.
"It was great to meet her and I'm hoping to keep in touch," he said.
Church's friends are doubtful.
"The meeting was a bolt from the blue. Charlotte was shocked. They talked and exchanged phone numbers but I'm not sure Charlotte will take things any further. Too much water has flowed under the bridge for them ever to be close," an unidentified friend said.
