LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Comedian Bill Maher has become the latest celebrity to be sued by a former girlfriend for alleged abuses during their relationship.
The host of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" was named in a $9 million lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Wednesday by Coco Johnson, E! Online reported Thursday.

Johnson claims in the suit that Maher convinced her to quit her job, then reneged on promises to marry her and buy her a Beverly Hills mansion. She also claims the former host of ABC's "Politically Incorrect" physically and verbally abused her.
Neither Maher nor his attorney were immediately available to comment on the suit, E! said.
