MOSCOW, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, in Moscow to adopt her second child, reportedly paid a poor Russian mother for a newborn baby.
The alleged transaction occurred after the Lara Croft actress learned it could take six months to adopt a child she was rumored to want, 7-month-old Gleb, from a Russian orphanage, Britain's Daily Mail reported Wednesday.
"The boy's mother got a hefty amount of money for it. Miss Jolie made a secret agreement with her and she got her baby several days after (the money) was delivered. The baby is already in America with her and it was registered in its new mother's name to avoid a lot of paperwork," Moscow's Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reported.
Russian adoption officials reportedly will visit Jolie's Hollywood home to check on the baby, the Daily Mail said.
Jolie adopted her first son, Maddox, now 3, from Cambodia.
