Mira Sovrino gives birth to a girl

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Oscar winner Mira Sorvino has given birth to her first child, a healthy girl who is now at Sorvino's Los Angeles area home with her parents.

The parents have not disclosed the girl's name or the precise date of her birth, Hellomagazine.com reported Monday.

Sorvino, 37, and her 23-year-old husband, Chris, were married in a private ceremony in June of this year.

Sorvino, who is a celebrity daughter herself -- her dad is actor Paul Sorvino -- got a best supporting-actress Oscar for her role in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite in 1995.

She is set to star alongside Pierce Brosnan and Burt Reynolds in the comedy "Instant Karma."

Chris, meanwhile, has made a guest appearance on "Will & Grace," the hit sitcom.
