NEW YORK, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Dr. Laura Schlessinger, back on New York radio, said she's happy about last week's presidential re-election of George W. Bush.

She described the election as a call for the kind of traditional bedrock values she promotes daily on her radio show on about 300 stations nationwide, reported the New York Daily News Monday.

"Much of our society has become like juveniles," she said. "We know right and wrong, but try to twist it around to do what we want -- and if that behavior pays off, we'll keep doing it."

America has taken a big moral slide since the 1960s and badly needs a reversal, she said.

"Family values to 99 percent of Americans -- Republicans, Democrats, everyone -- means a safe, secure home and your children growing up with proper guidance," Schlessinger said. "It's issues like day care and going to church. That's what I talk about and that's why I have the broad audience I do."
