LONDON, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Sharon Osbourne said on the British morning TV program GMTV on ITV that she didn't recognize the Duchess of York when she saw her wearing a black wig.

"This woman with long black hair came up and said, 'Hello,'" Osbourne said. "I then realized it was Fergie. She'd got on the tube (subway) with the wig on."

The red-haired ex-wife of Prince Andrew told viewers she takes public transportation because it's the only way to arrive on time, the Mirror reported Friday. Osbourne and the Duchess of York both appeared on Thursday's GMTV.

Sarah Ferguson also said on the program that she did not pose naked in a forthcoming book that raises money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

"I'm covered with a long black sheet," she said. "I wouldn't want to put everyone off breakfast -- imagine seeing me nude -- aaaagh."
