Brandy leaves Atlantic Records

NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Brandy has reportedly parted ways with Atlantic Records, where the U.S. R&B singer recorded four projects and sold more than 8 million records.

The singer/actress, who asked to be released from her Atlantic contract, is said to be in talks with several labels regarding future albums, Billboard.com reported Tuesday.

Her last Atlantic CD, "Afrodisiac," was released July 3 and has sold 361,000 units to-date, Billboard.com said.

Brandy's next TV project is a fall 2005 comedy series for Fox, which the entertainer will co-executive produce with her mother/manager, Sonja Norwood.

Brandy also reportedly is in talks for "two other high-profile television vehicles," Billboard.com said.

The singer helped brother Ray J on his upcoming Sanctuary album "Raydiation," due in March.
